Tiger Woods Apparel Script for Turnberry

Posted at 6:55 PM by David Dusek | Categories: British Open , Nike , Tiger Woods

You are undoubtedly aware that big money is paid to players to flash logos, wear specific items, and look good on the course. The industry term for deciding exactly what shirts go with which pants, and which sweater, is scripting. Each company takes its scripting very seriously because apparel never looks better than when it is being worn by a great player on a beautiful course.

Nike just sent me the script for Tiger Woods' apparel during the 2009 British Open Turnberry. Here it is:

I was wondering what he was going to wear on Saturday and Sunday. Now I can sleep easy knowing what he would have looked like (had he made the cut...).

I ought to kick my own @ss for clicking on this article.

Very poor colors and style.....looking very dated ala Tiger circa 1995. What about a beige slack with yellow/gold pattern shirt. He should be wearing Greg Norman shirts...!!

Seems to always use a white ball, though.

as long as he wins who cares.

who cares what he looks like as long as he wins!!!!!

Tiger needs a new look. Throw in a white belt or white pants or something. Same boring stuff.

What? Wearing the same black slacks twice in 4 days! Is Nike cutting back? Should we worry about stock? Horrors! And what about shoes? BTW, the peach colored shirt really will bring out the luscious cocoa tone of his skin! Gray, not so much. And tan/khaki/putty (Thursday) has never been his color.

Sunday never changes. They should focus more on Thursday through Friday. How about the shoes, belt, socks?

Will Nike have him wear a "15" jacket like they did with Federer if he wins? Nike and ESPN the Hype machines of our day.

Now I can go on with the rest of my life!

How can his wardrobe be complete without matching shoes and bag?

where != wear

But Tiger's "scripts" look good.

Friday is butt ugly. Sunday shirt is understandable, but does it have to be black pants as well? It can be dark blue.

No Underwear or Socks... I'm surprised. Hopefully the chaffing doesn't affect his play.
