Nike Golfers Celebrate Kickoff of College Football Season
College football fans are eagerly anticipating the start of the season this weekend, and golfers are no exception, especially those who went to schools with rich football traditions.
On Saturday, during the second round of the Deutsche Bank Championship at TPC Boston, several of Nike's top staff players will wear outfits that show their true school colors. They include Tiger Woods (Stanford), Anthony Kim (Oklahoma), Stewart Cink (Georgia Tech), Lucas Glover (Clemson), Carl Pettersson (North Carolina State), Justin Leonard (Texas) and Paul Casey (Arizona State).

@Dallas. Who said it matters? I was just asking a simple question. I hate people who try to make something out of simple comment.

Either will Carl Pettersson...he didn't qualify for the FedEx playoffs. I guess he can wear his outfit while he sits at home watching it on TV. ;-P

Tiger wasn't at Stanford long enough to have his first beer, so he should wear his high school colors.

im guessing based on Tiger's shirt, he doesn't want to wear red on saturday

@Altman, does it really matter? I hate this argument. These days universities mean so much more to people, not just the graduates. Some reflect the pride of an entire state.

Is it just me, or does Tiger's outfit look the worst? And I usually think Stanford has pretty sharp apparell.

how many of these guys actually graduated from their colleges?

They look pretty snazzy.

Lee...it doesn't matter because college licensing deals don't extend to professional athletes.

I guess you're SOL if you're a Nike staff player and your college is under a contract with Under Armour or Adidas or whoever...
