Cobra to release all-white Limited Edition ZL driver

Posted at 10:06 PM by David Dusek | Categories: Cobra, Drivers, Fujikura, Ian Poulter

Ian-Poulter-White-Cobra-Driver_600x450 Ian Poulter has never been one to shy away from a fashion statement, so it should come as no surprise that he loves his new all-white, Limited Edition Cobra ZL driver.

In a statement released Thursday night by Cobra Golf, Poulter said:

"I like the visual of the new all-white ZL. It's really very cool. It's really very unique and different than any driver I've seen — plus it's performance is great too. It has the identical performance to the driver I've won with twice."

Poulter has decided to put his Limited Edition ZL in play this week at the WGC-HSBC Champions in Shanghai (above).

From a technical standpoint, Poulter should be enamored with his white driver because the Limited Edition ZL has a carbon composite crown and sole, along with a titanium body and clubface, just like the original ZL. And both the original and Limited Edition models feature Cobra's adjustable hosel that allows golfers to position the face in either a neutral, open or closed position using a torque wrench.

But what sets the Limited Edition driver apart is the white head, the white Golf Pride Tour Wrap grip and the white Fujikura Motore Speeder VC 6.0 shaft. According to the release, the shaft alone has a value of $399, which helps to explain the $625 price of the Limited Edition ZL.

The 500 Limited Edition ZL drivers will be available in lofts of 9.5° and 10.5° with a stiff shaft starting December 15, but Cobra is welcoming pre-orders for the club beginning November 15 at participating retailers. To see a list of those dealers, visit cobragolf.com.
