TaylorMade SLDR S Metalwoods

Posted at 12:02 PM by Michael Chwasky | Categories: TaylorMade

The new SLDR S line of TaylorMade metalwoods all feature the same low and forward CG as the original SLDR line, which is aimed at producing faster ball speeds, higher launch angles, lower spin rates, and more distance. Unlike the original SLDR, the SLDR S metalwoods do not feature adjustable hosel technology, but with a wide variety of lofts available they can be fitted to just about any player. SLDR S metalwoods also feature shallower clubfaces and slightly more low-profile clubheads to make them more playable for players with non-Tour swing speeds. However, like the original SLDR line, the new clubs provide added benefits when played with higher lofts.

“It’s no secret that high launch and low spin maximize driver distance, but some players think that only Tour pros can benefit from lofting up with low forward CG,” said TaylorMade Chief Technical Officer, Benoit Vincent. “This is simply not true. By lofting up, you can generate serious distance regardless of swing speed with SLDR S, which has low and forward CG properties, along with a sliding weight that assists shot shape.”

The SLDR S driver ($329) is available in 10°, 12°, 14°, and 16° models with Fujikura Speeder 57 graphite shaft. It comes with the same SLDR sliding weight technology as the original SLDR, allowing for customized shot shape control.

SLDR S fairway woods ($229) are available in 15°, 17°, 19°, 21°, and 23° models with Fujikura Speeder 65 graphite shafts.

SLDR S Rescues ($179) are available in 19°, 22°, 25°, and 28° models with Fujikura Speeder 72 graphite shafts.

The entire line of TaylorMade SLDR S metalwoods will be available on May 16th.
