Anna Rawson Q&A: Part 2

Posted at 5:36 PM by Connell Barrett | Categories: Anna Rawson

The LPGA's sexy star on fashion victims, dream pairings, and the swing flaw ailing amateurs

Here's part two of my Q&A with LPGA Tour player and part-time model Anna Rawson, shown here in the outfit she wore at Q-school last year. (Yes, she's that good!)

Connell Barrett: Some miscellaneous questions. What's the biggest risk you've ever taken, on or off the course?
Anna Rawson: Coming to USC [where Rawson played college golf] from Australia, moving halfway around the world, away from my friends and home and family, and all the things that make you comfortable.

CB: They're casting The Anna Rawson Story, coming soon to Lifetime. Who plays you?
AR: Either Charlize Theron or Cameron Diaz.

0305

CB: You can play with any three people. Who are they? And remember--Craig Stadler counts as two.
AR: [Designer] Marc Jacobs, [surfer] Kelly Slater, and Justin Timberlake. Timberlake is a really good golfer, close to scratch.

CB: That's a fashionable foursome. You've done some modeling. What's the biggest fashion mistake men make on the course?
AR: Argyle and stripes are the only prints that should exist! Any other printed shirt, get rid of it. Guys, lose those nasty Hawaiian shirts. And no pleated pants. Pleats are terrible. Don't wear white-and-brown saddle shoes with black pants. And beware of too much of one color. Stewart Cink's shirt and hat at the British? Too much green.

CB: He did resemble a freakishly tall leprechaun. So, how does the average Joe spruce up his golf wardrobe?
AR: One cool accessory can help, like a belt buckle that makes you stand out, like Anthony Kim wears.

CB: You can play only one more round of golf. What course do you choose?
AR: Pebble Beach on a sunny day. I also love Pinehurst.

CB: What shot, when you pull it off, gets you excited? Long bunkers shots? A huge drive down the middle?
AR: You know what I love? Holing out with a wedge, when it spins back. That's when I come to life.

CB: Yeahhhh, holing out from the fairway. That's my go-to shot. Last question: When you play with amateurs, what's the most common swing mistake you see?
AR: Too much lateral movement. They move off the ball, swaying too much. They would instantly hit it better if they kept their upper body quiet. They also get nervous [in pro-ams], which is funny. We're pros. We expect you to suck. Some people shake, but we expect you to hit it O.B., so if you hit it into the rough, that's a bonus. It's just a game. Relax. Golf's not your job. It's my job.

Part I: Anna Rawson talks about fame, jealous playing partners and her 'body' of work..

Hey Connell, I know it makes an interview difficult, but tell her not to speak. I'm a fan of the LPGA and they need all the help they can get. However, having Rawson speak isn't doing them any favors. I've played in one Pro-Am; I'll not do it again if that is the pro's attitude. Speaking of "suck", how has her season been?

What a nightmare. She really needs to stop doing interviews. UNNNGH!!!

Anna, I am a female amatuer who would take you to school in a Pro-Am.

I swear she just said don't wear brown and white saddle shoes with black and yet can we all glance at picture 3 of 11 in her gallery? hypocrite! Natalie looks better anyway ;0P
