Arnie's grandson turning pro
The past three years, Arnold Palmer's grandson Sam Saunders played for Clemson and, for two seasons, lived up to the reputation: a top-10 finish in his first collegiate tournament, NCAA all-regional honors in 2008 when the Tigers finished fifth in the nation, a spot in coach Larry Penley's starting lineup.
But this past season, Saunders started in fewer than half of Clemson's tournaments and was replaced by Luke Hopkins. Late in the season, he announced he would skip his senior season to turn pro.
