Vijay doesn't like playoff format

The reigning Tour playoff champ says he would run it differently. Much differently.

Instead of accumulating survival points during a four-tournament cutdown, Vijay Singh says players should be eliminated solely on the basis of their performance that week. Sounds like the playoffs in almost every other sport.

"Every week, it should be back to zero in the playoffs. That way, you just advance," said Singh, who made $10 million by winning last year's FedEx Cup. "A hundred play, or 200 play, or whatever, and you just cut it down to whatever is necessary.

"The last day, it's a shootout," Singh said. "I think that would be a better way of doing it. But I'm the only one that's playing that thinks that way."
