Club throwing goes competitive

Stracka.com is sponsoring a long drive challenge in Georgia today. More importantly, though, they've added a new competition to their event, a golf club throwing contest! "Distance and style matter," said Brian Nash, Golf's Long Drive Champ. "Not everyone can drive the ball 300 yards, but everyone can throw a golf club 30 yards."  The event will be broadcast live online at 3 p.m. EST here.

Els curses (sort of) on camera

While roaming around YouTube the other day, I found this video of Ernie Els from an undisclosed tournament saying a curse word after a bad tee shot. But Els didn't drop an F-bomb, or some other horrible word. He called himself a "doos." Turns out it's South African slang for ... well, read for yourself.

Boo Weekley gallops onto the Tonight Show

Boo Weekley, who made quite an impression at the Ryder Cup this year, made an appearance on Leno last Thursday. His entrance was reminiscent of his gallop down the fairway during the Sunday singles matches last month, and he was as big a hit on late night TV as he was at Valhalla.
