Sergio says he's still with Greg Norman’s daughter
Sergio Garcia doesn’t have a major (yet), but he leads the Tour in dates with Jessica Alba, an achievement some might argue is even more impressive. However, for the past couple years the Tour’s most-eligible bachelor has been quietly dating Morgan-Leigh Norman, daughter of Greg. Their relationship is still going strong, he told reporters at the HSBC Championship in Shanghai, according to The Australian newspaper.
While Garcia showed his serious side when discussing his course ambitions, he was amused by suggestions from a local journalist that there was gossip about him splitting with his girlfriend and Greg Norman's daughter Morgan.
"I hope not," he said smiling, while sneaking a look out of the press centre window. "She's here this week with me."
Everything’s coming up aces for Garcia, who could overtake Phil Mickelson as World No. 2 with a good showing this week after a 2008 season which included his Players Championship win, a runner-up finish at the PGA Championship and a win at last month’s Castelló Masters on the Euro Tour.
Q. How hard are you chasing the No. 2 ranking and do you have any timetable on your goals of when you will try and reach that?
SERGIO GARCÍA: If I can, this week. You know, do well and hopefully win or come close to it, and that's what I need to do to have a chance. I feel like I'm playing well, and there's no doubt, and while your legs get a little heavier, but just trying to finish the year strong and see if I can get towards -- if not to it, as close as I can so I can have a good chance next year with another good, solid season.
