Norman and Evert: We're not home wreckers!

Posted at 12:03 PM by Mike Walker | Categories: Chris Evert , Greg Norman

"Why is divorce so expensive?" the old jokes goes. "Because it's worth it."

Greg Norman didn't actually tell that one on the Australian TV show 60 Minutes last Sunday, but he came pretty close. Appearing with new wife Chris Evert, Norman took aim at his ex-wife Laura Andrassy's allegations that Evert was a "predator" and her hints that Evert and Norman began their affair while they were both in previous marriages, or, as the host puts it to Norman in the expressive Aussie vernacular, "She said you cut your mate's lunch."

Not so, Norman said, it was actually Andrassy who asked for a divorce.
"In December 2005 we were at a ranch and Laura asked for a divorce," he said.

"She packed her bags.

"My parents were at the ranch (with them) and Laura said, 'Aren't you going to tell them?', right in front of them, and I was, 'OK, Laura's asked for a divorce and she's leaving'. That was it. I drove her to the airport, and that was it.

"That's a fact.

"That's how the situation started unraveling."

The real "Wow!" moment of the interview came when Norman described what it's like to write a check for $100 million, the amount of Andrassy's divorce settlement. "It's good to know you have it," Norman said. "It's the price you pay for freedom."

Evert strikes back too, saying that Andrassy's accusations are untrue and "come from a place of pain." She then suggests that Andrassy "get a job."

The program shows video of Andrassy drinking wine with her friends in what could be an outtake from The Real Housewives of New South Wales, but when asked about Norman and Evert's interview, she takes the high road.

"In respect for my marriage of 25 years, I have no comment on the interview," Andrassy said in a statement.

This interview with Chris Evert and Greg Norman is the most disgusting interview I ever seen. All they did was try to cover up what they did, which was cheat on their spouses. Chris is not half the woman/lady Laura is.When I listen to Laura's interview she seem to be telling the truth, whereas Chris must have said a thousands "you knows" and seem to be covering up a lot. Laura spoke much more articulately and calmly when discusasing what happened.
As far as Greg goes he came up with some strange answers during the interview that made every little sense.
Shame on you Norman and Evert!

How many times has Miss Prissy Chrissy been married folks, daaaa!!!! Too many times to count and how many of those previous marriages did Chris Evert break up like Greg Norman's. Chris has a notorious past of getting involved with men who are already married and Greg is just another notch on her gun. Believe me when I say "And this too shall pass away in time"!! You will never see Miss Chris staying in a marriage with anyone for 25 years.

To the people who are trashing Greg, I suggest you take a deep breath, go back in time a bit and do some homework. If you did a few minutes of homework you would find that it was big news in the tabloid rags of Florida and it was Laura who was doing the trashing......on and on and on it went. Greg said nothing and took the high road, so lets all get the facts straight before we act like we know something and express our opinions on something we know sweet nothing about. Ok linkslife, Carol and Kevin, and Greg???? wake up time losers.

Are you kidding me Greg? I live 2000 miles from you and I and half the world could tell that you and Chris started your affair long before you divorced. That's the way it is, you start an affair with your close friends then you blame divorce on your wife. Beautiful..the only thing bigger then that $100 million check is your ego.....and I'm a Norman fan!!!...You suck Greg!

Shame on you Greg Norman and ugly Chris Evert, you should take a leaf out of classy and dignified Laura who had the right to trash them for humiliating her the Mother of your children so, what respect would you have for that poor ugly Chris who rubbed your wife of many years and the Mother of your children's nose in your love affair. Have some dignity the two of you. Laura may not have made all that money but supported you throughout all the years. How could you compare the two Women. And what did straggly hair too much makeup Chris do to earn your fortune? My estimation of you Greg is SUCKER.

Taking 100 million dollars, none of which she earned, I agree with Chris Evert, GET A JOB !!!!

Sounds to me like gregs wife is the one acting classy.
