Video: Tiger Woods practice round at Bethpage

Posted at 5:30 PM by Damon Hack | Categories: Tiger Woods

Tiger Woods celebrated his Memorial triumph by flying to New York and playing 17 holes of practice Monday at Bethpage Black, site of the United States Open starting June 18.

Accompanied by his swing coach, Hank Haney, and a local caddie, Woods teed off on the first hole and set off on his round as dozens of fans and a handful of media did their best to take notes. One member of the gallery, A.J. Voelpel, got close enough to film about one minute of Woods's round. There is footage of Woods walking on the course with Haney, a caddie, and a couple of state troopers. Then, of course, there is Tiger swinging his clubs - a tee shot at the uphill par-4 15th hole, including a quick wave to the fans; another tee shot at the par-3 17th hole, where Woods made birdie during the high-voltage third round at the United States Open in 2002.

The video ends with the description of Woods teeing off on the par 4 18th hole and then leaving his ball in the fairway as a cart picked him up and ferried him to the parking lot, the better to avoid the crowd assembled by the 18th green.

The guess here is that Tiger will have played 72 holes by late Sunday, June 21st.

Comments

watching Tiger play gives me a lot of confidence in myself and I am getting better at my golf since I watch him.

his style in playing golf as a lot of practice and faith in himself

in my thoughts Tiger will do well, he has the skill and confidence within himself

Not to talk bad about Tiger, but I bet Phil would finish the 18th, sign autographs, shake hands before leaving the course
