Vegas lists Tiger at 3-to-1 odds to win U.S. Open
When it comes to Tiger Woods, Las Vegas casinos don't like to take chances. Even though he'll be facing 155 other golfers at the U.S. Open this weekend, a bet on Woods will pay off just 3 to 1, and Las Vegas gaming expert Chuck Esposito expects to see even shorter odds by Thursday.
"I suspect he'll go off at 6 to 5 or 7 to 5," Esposito said. "There's just too much value at 3 to 1."
Here are the other contenders and their odds to win, according to Esposito.
Phil Mickelson: 8-1
Angel Cabrera: 12-1
Padraig Harrington: 15-1
Geoff Ogilvy: 15-1
Jim Furyk: 15-1
Paul Casey: 25-1
Retief Goosen: 25-1
Sergio Garcia: 25-1
Ernie Els: 35-1
The Field: 10-1
