Will rain stop for Tour Championship in Atlanta?
The Tour Championship may never see the sun this week. The Atlanta area has been plagued by torrential rainstorms for the past week, causing floods, road closures, school cancellations and two fatalities, according to CNN.
Stewart Cink tweeted on Monday morning, "It's rained so much around ATL that many school systems are delayed or cancelled today. And East Lake closed all day -- range and course."
A call to the pro shop at East Lake, where the final leg of the FedEx Cup playoffs will be played this week, revealed that the range was actually open Monday and a few players were out practicing, but the course was off limits.
The weather forecast for the week is foreboding, with thunderstorms predicted every day through Sunday. The Tour Championship is scheduled to begin Thursday.

Bad weather is the last thing the PGA Tour wants to see at the Tour Championship. It's just one more thing to add to the FedEx Cup complaints box.

Rain is the least of the worries of the people of Atlanta - flooding is. As far as I am concerned, the Tour Championship can be postponed. The results are not as meaningful as it is made out to be. The true winner of the FedEx Cup should be Tiger Woods - despite the contrivances concocted. The winner of the Tour championship is what is up in the air - just a win.

Torrey Pines looked fantastic with the perfect weather on TV last week. Let's play it there.

I live in ATL (maybe 5 miles from East Lake?) and at 3:45 Monday, it is teeming rain. Three inches since midnight, 9 since Friday. Much higher amounts outside the city. The best forecast is for "less rain." Instead of 100% chance, it's down to 50% for the rest of the week. The cup runneth over into next week?

Maybe Fedex will be able to buy off the weather. They seem to be rolling in dough.
