Truth & Rumors: Pettersson ponders life after belly putters

Posted at 11:40 AM by Mark Dee | Categories: Deutsche Bank Championship, Truth & Rumors

A very talkative Carl Pettersson shared some gallows humor for his long putter with Michael Whitmer of The Boston Globe Wednesday at the Deutsche Bank.

Pettersson, who ranks tenth on tour in putting stat Strokes Gained, is the only player in the current FedEx Cup top 10 who uses a long putter. He estimates, according to Whitmer's article, that he's spent "10,000 to 15,000 hours" practicing with it over the past 10 years.

So what would he do if it were banned?

“Would I adapt? Well, I’d have to,” Pettersson told Whitmer. “I’ve got a high school diploma. What else am I going to do?”

Maybe…sweep?
