Truth & Rumors: Rory McIlroy to train with New York Knicks

Posted at 12:45 PM by Mark Dee | Categories: Rory McIlroy, Truth & Rumors

The New York Knicks have invited Rory McIlroy to train with the team. Maybe some of the World No. 1's recent success will rub off.

According to Ryan Laver of The Golf Channel, McIlroy will participate in the team's workouts during his week off, having been invited by their common trainer Steve McGregor:

“We’re doing a bit of track work next week,” McIlroy told reporters Sunday at the BMW Championship “I think their stride is probably a little longer than mine, but it should be good fun. I’m really looking forward to next week because of that; just to completely get away from golf for a few days and hang out with those guys.”

So let's get this straight: A golfer running against a basketball team on a race track. Why not. The way he's going, we wouldn't be surprised if he grabbed a roster spot. The Knicks need a point guard.
