Truth & Rumors: Table Tennis among highlights in U.S. team room

Posted at 11:27 AM by Mark Dee | Categories: Ryder Cup, Truth & Rumors

The U.S. Ryder Cup team room is a six-pack away from the American Dream.

According to Rex Hoggard of the Golf Channel, this week's home base in the team hotel is less locker room and more man cave:

The table tennis theme, now a Ryder Cup tradition with Matt Kuchar regularly dispatching all comers, has now expanded to three tables and a limitless supply of ping pong balls and paddles, although many American team members now travel with their own paddles.

“If we have an injury this week it will probably be from someone stepping on a ping pong ball,” U.S. captain Davis Love III said on Tuesday.

The team room also features a cornhole, or bean bag toss, game and foosball table.

We're not sure "a cornhole" is proper parlance, but we'll forgive Rex that much. He's a golf writer. A golf writer who just reminded us how much we want on the 2014 team.
