First stage of PGA Tour Q-school underway

Posted at 3:51 PM by Golf.com | Categories: PGA Tour Q-School

The last PGA Tour Q-school as we know it is underway at six different sites around the country. Eight more sites will be hosting first-stage qualifying next week. Not too many notable names are in the first stage this week, but two sons of pros are trying to make it to the big tour -- Jamie Sindelar and Angel Cabrera Jr. Also, Sam Saunders, Arnold Palmer's grandson, withdrew from qualifying in Lakeland, Fla.

The low 25 and ties from the final stage will earn PGA Tour cards for the 2013 season. Next year, the top 75 on the Web.com money list and the players who are 126-200 on the PGA Tour's FedEx Cup points list will compete for 50 PGA Tour cards in a three-tournament series.

The second stage of Q-school begins Nov. 13, and the final stage on Nov. 28.

Scores from the First Stage
Kannapolis, N.C. | Lantana, Texas | Palm Desert, Calif. | Lakeland, Fla. | Dayton, Nev. | Madison, Miss.
