Truth & Rumors: See one man's amazing backyard mini golf course

Posted at 1:56 PM by Mark Dee | Categories: Truth & Rumors

Ah, mini-golf. America's whimsical little prince to Scotland's sport of kings.

2012 has been a good year for putt-putt, with Pinehurst opening Thistle Dhu, it's own putting course, and homage to America's first mini-golf ancestor. Now, the New York Times has directed our attention to another special mini-track.

It's Big Stone Mini Golf Course in Minnetrista, Minn., the work of sculptor Bruce Stillman. Situated in Stillman's backyard, Michael Tortorello's article for the Times speaks of holes called "Dead Tree Forest" (featuring actual dead trees!) and Goat Mountain (featuring actual fainting goats!). Each year, the course gets 15,000-20,000 rounds at $7 a pop, and, looking at the accompanying slideshow, you'll see why.

Have you played a more impressive mini-course? Let us know in the comments below.
