Hip surgery may cause Blake Adams to miss 2013 season: Truth & Rumors

Posted at 2:22 PM by Samantha Glover | Categories: Truth & Rumors

BlakeAfter missing the cut at the Humana Challenge and withdrawing from the Farmers Insurance Open, Blake  Adams might miss the remainder of the 2013 season due to hip surgery, according to Golf Channel's Jason Sobel.

Adams will undergo surgery in Vail, Colo., on Tuesday morning to repair a torn labrum in his hip, while also removing bone spurs and a cyst.

Depending on whether surgery reveals a microfracture or not, Adams will be on crutches anywhere from two-to-eight weeks.

According to the report, the surgery will be performed by Marc J. Phillipon, who has performed hip surgery on fellow PGA Tour member Brandt Snedeker and Alex Rodriguez of the Yankees.

Since joining the PGA Tour in 2010, Adams has recorded nine top-10 finishes and earned $3,298,495.
