Jason Dufner and Keegan Bradley face off in epic Twitter battle
Sparks fly whenever Keegan Bradley and Jason Dufner face off, whether it's in the final round of the 2011 PGA Championship or on in a hilarious Twitter battle on Wednesday.
The Battle: The instigating moment of their inspired online trash-talking was a fashion choice by Bradley. Dufner took notice of Bradley donning the flat-billed Cleveland hat seen above during the WGC-Cadillac Championship and took dead aim.
@keegan_bradley, is this the look you are going for with that hat? Back to the visor please twitter.com/JasonDufner/st…

Bradley immediately recovered and went for the early-round knockout with an embarrassing picture from 2003 of Dufner with small hoop earrings in each ear, frosted blonde tips and spiked hair. This battle appeared to be over before it started. There is no way Dufner could get back off the mat.
Actually @jasondufner I'm thinking of going to this look....#eminem twitter.com/Keegan_Bradley…

@keegan_bradley man I gotta get that pic off the Internet.

Zach Johnson decides to jump into the fray in defense of Dufner by posting what looks like a yearbook shot of Keegan with a curly afro. Dufner decided he didn't need any help in taking down Bradley and turned his focus towards Johnson. Zach was just trying to help!
That was taken last week. @jasondufner: Hey @keegan_bradley since we are sharing past photos, thought u might enjoy. twitter.com/JasonDufner/st…

Hey @zachjohnsonpga don't be getting in our war, @djohnsonpga, wants to know why u hit it so short, Bro. twitter.com/JasonDufner/st…

Johnson didn't go for any haymakers like Bradley did, but instead took the high road and only jabbed at Dufner's well-publicized liking of chewing tobacco. This quickly has become a 1-on-2 handicap match.
@jasondufner @djohnsonpga he asked me for a dip. "Do I look like Duf? All I have is almonds."

Zach then tags out. Bradley enters back in the mix fresh and well-rested. He loses a few points for reusing the same material, but then he kicks things up a notch. His 156,000-plus followers now see the spiked-hair version of Dufner as Bradley has set it as his new Twitter avatar. To take the character takeover a step further, he starts tweeting about Dufner's alma mater, Auburn University. The world's No. 1 player also makes a cameo appearance.
WAR EAGLE!!

“@mcilroyrory: @keegan_bradley haha loving the profile picture!! @jasondufner”Haha what do u mean that's me. I love double earrings

Yo remember when the Auburn Tigers won the national title in 2010!!! War Eagle!
— Keegan Bradley (@Keegan_Bradley) March 13, 2013
Dufner, who lives in Auburn and regularly attends Auburn sporting events, won't stand for this. He mounts his counterattack, focusing on Bradley's alma mater's lack of athletic success and then dips into controversial waters by mentioning Bradley's use of an anchored putter. He caps off his rebuttal by stepping outside of the golf world and hits current events by rubbing in the departure of Wes Welker, former New England Patriots wide receiver. (Bradley, a Massachusetts native, is a huge Patriots fan.) He even throws in a random picture of Bradley along the way.
@keegan_bradley remember when ST Johns won anything.... Oh wait..

@keegan_bradley was doing this to me at the PGA in 2011, I asked my caddy does he need medical attention? twitter.com/JasonDufner/st…
— Jason Dufner (@JasonDufner) March 13, 2013This is the cheat code to unlock anchored putters for @keegan_bradley in @easportsgolf 2014. Your welcome. twitter.com/JasonDufner/st…

This also happened today. Sorry @keegan_bradley twitter.com/JasonDufner/st…

@keegan_bradley Proof that its hasn't always been anchored! twitter.com/JasonDufner/st…
— Jason Dufner (@JasonDufner) March 13, 2013
Bradley gracefully bows out with a simple reply: "Now that's crossing the line."
The Decision: Keegan came in with some heavy hitting early, but couldn't sustain it throughout the entire battle. Dufner favored quantity over quality and wore down his opponent on his way to a victory in "Dufner vs. Bradley I." We can't wait for the rematch.
