Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson practice at Oak Hill
Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson both got in some early work on Tuesday in preparation for next week's 95th PGA Championship.
The Democrat and Chronicle spotted the world’s top-ranked golfer at Oak Hill Country Club in Rochester with his girlfriend, skier Lindsey Vonn, and caddie Joe LaCava.
Woods finished tied for 39th in the 2003 PGA Championship, his last tournament at Oak Hill.
A small group of club members are on the course with Woods, along with some members of the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department who are providing security. Oak Hill is closed to the general public.
Mickelson, who won the British Open, also was in town to practice at the course on Monday with his caddie Bones Mackay and short-game coach Dave Pelz. After a few practice rounds, Mickelson will head off to Akron, Ohio to compete in the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational this weekend.
